I love myself a good lifestyle session, and when you are working with twins it’s twice a good!
Despite the fact that it was very rainy and dark outside – which made it quite dark inside, we still managed to find some natural light and capture some really sweet moments of these two little cutie pies. Having boys myself I expected that these two year old twin boys would be full of energy and wouldn’t sit still, but it was quite the opposite. The twins were very laid back and calm during the shoot. As you can see, though, we snuck in some silly giggle time and basket hiding. They both loved showing me all their toys and what they could do with them! Those are my favorite types of shots… when kids are playing with every day things. In the moment it does not seem like any big deal but once parents look back at the photos after a few years have passed they will remember all the little details of their little ones. What they liked. What they used to play with. What made them laugh. What made them cry. Their cute little feet and hands. These are the things that we forget over time, and these are the things that we wish we could get back. Trust me! My boys have only begun elementary school and it seems like a lifetime ago when they were this age. It goes by so stinking fast!
I like to make my sessions as natural as possible when I am shooting at a clients house. I look at it as a playdate where I get to spend time with the kids and they show me what is special about their world.
After goofing around for a bit inside we made our way to the outdoors. The boys showed me their trampoline and garden and outdoor toys. Of course we played in the dirt and got a little messy. Mom and dad joined in and they had some cuddle time on a picnic blanket I had brought over and then we ended the session on the front porch with hugs and kisses.
