There might be nothing more refreshing than a dip in the river during our hot Texas summers, right!? Over the summer in late August, I got to hang out with eight families for some mini sessions in the river at Cibolo Nature Center in Boerne, Texas. I’ll tell you what: y’all know that summer in Texas is pretty freaking hot, but this really wasn’t so bad because the river water is so cold. And the best part? The kids absolutely loved it!! Kids love to explore and be barefoot and have fun, and I couldn’t think of a better way to have some fun than splashing around in the river together.
Each session was about half an hour long, and most of them were back to back. I’d love to thank all of the families who came to hang out with me – I hope y’all had as much fun as I did. Best weekend everrrr!
What to Wear For Sessions in the River
One thing that I absolutely loved about these mini sessions (beside the refreshing cold river water on a hot summer day!) was how everyone dressed for their sessions in the river. Before we met up, I made sure to let everyone know to wear light colors. Why? Because light colors look best on the dark river! It creates a nice contrast in the sunlight, and everyone did a fantastic job of coordinating-but-not-matching with their looks. Bravo, y’all!
Pretty soon I’ll be creating a board on my Pinterest so that I can start sharing more of ideas on what to wear for your upcoming family and maternity sessions. You can absolutely bet I’ll be adding these outfits to my suggestion board!
