I love my clients. They are the absolute best! Josh and Alexis contacted me last November because they wanted me to photograph their maternity and newborn photos for them. They loved my all white modern studio option that I offer, and therefor chose that to be the setting for their newborn session. With a modern studio newborn session being the goal, they came dressed in neutrals and I chose blues and grey for baby Mason to compliment the look.
Baby Andrew was born early and had kind of a rough go at his first week of life. Despite him being WIDE awake the ENTIRE session (that was a first for me) I still managed to capture some amazing memories for this sweet family of three. And how beautiful is that custom blanket?! Shout out to all the crafty grandmothers out there willing to create beautiful keepsakes for their grand babies.
Whether babies are awake or asleep during the session, I try to photograph shots of the family with a more lifestyle look. Sure, I do posed shots as well, but this is my go -to option for awake babies 😉 I just love capturing those yawns and stretches on camera!
At some point during the session, I try to get photos of baby on my posing beanbag (You can see these images towards the end of the gallery). I have a small 3×3 beanbag I use to pose newborns on. Often times I get those precious sleepy shots at that time. Baby Mason was showing NO signs of falling asleep at this point, so I went ahead and photographed him looking into my lens and Oh My Gah! I just LOVE when these babies look right into my lens for me! His beautiful eyes were so piercing. It can be challenging to get these newborns looking at your camera just right because they can hardly even see at this stage – BUT, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to accomplish this 😉
I just love how these turned out. If you are due soon with a newborn send me a message so we can set up your ideal newborn session!
